Nowadays, you will find a number of Mail apps that you can use on your iPhone like Gmail. But, still many people will prefer to use the stock Mail app as it comes built-in with your iPhone. Check out the following mail app tips on iOS 7 that will enable you to get the most out of it.
Open Zip Files directly with Mail App
Apple has added a new feature to the Mail App on iOS 7. Now, you can open the zip files instantly using mail app. This way, you would not have to use any other program to unzip the files. Just open the attached zip file directly to the stock Mail app without having to download it. Keep in mind you can open the zip file only if iOS 7 supports it.
Display First Names or Nicknames
The stock Mail app shows just the first names in your contacts list by default. This might create confusion for you if some of your friends have the same first name. To change this action, simply open Settings, then got to Mail>Contacts, find Calendars options and move down, now hit Short Name and disable it, iOS Mail will display full names. Here you will find another option i.e. Prefer Nicknames. You can enable it so mail app will display only nicknames in your contacts.
With fast and easy mail search feature, mail app allows you to search your entire mailbox. In addition, you can tap the current mailbox tab if you want to search the existing mailbox.
Another modern feature in iOS 7 Mail app is the addition of the VIP mailbox. It often becomes difficult to find any important email message among hundreds of emails you receive every day. Those specific email messages might be from a companion, friend, or a supervisor etc. that will require quick attention. VIP mailbox helps you in these kinds of situations. It is your individual priority emails list. It collects all the email messages from specific contacts that you select. This way, it allows you to check the important emails first without searching them in the whole mailbox.
