- 2 Summarizing iPhone Pegasus Hack
A new threat is lurking for our iPhones and the name is iPhone Pegasus Hack! Here you will find everything about this masterful spyware, which iPhone’s apps and how your personal data are endangered and how Apple immediately released iOS 9.3.5 as a critical security update in order to protect ourselves from iPhone Pegasus Hack!
A new threat rises: iPhone Pegasus Hack
I remember myself watching on theater ”Enemy of State”, with Will Smith back in 1998! We didn’t know what NSA exactly is at that time, smartphones were still science fiction and the idea of big brother watching you through public cameras, cell phones, phones, computers, the internet, and satellites was so difficult to digest! But especially after 9/11 we all knew that almost everything we watched in that movie was true!
Technology made large steps since then and every now and then a new threat pops up. A few days ago the whole world found out about iPhone Pegasus Hack and NSO Group.
NSO group and iPhone Pegasus Hack
NSO Group is an established private cyber arms dealer based in Israel. It is rumored of having 200-500 employees and is extremely known for selling superior spyware to many governments worldwide. One of them is Mexico. Their new product is iPhone Pegasus Hack!
iPhone Pegasus Hack exploits a number of critical liabilities in the iOS mobile operating system! When iPhone Pegasus Hack gets in your system then:
- the location on a compromised device
- Phone Calls
- address lists
- Apple Calendar
are ALL compromised and accessible by whoever is controlling the iPhone Pegasus Hack! On top that the iPhone’s mic can be turned on at any time for surveillance!
Who we have to thank for finding iPhone Pegasus Hack
The iPhone Pegasus Hack was discovered thanks to Lookout Security Firm and Citizen Lab of University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and their reverse engineering techniques. We also have to thank activist Ahmed Mansoor for sending suspicious SMS text messages, that he received to his iPhone 6, to Citizen Lab! They had similar encounters with other spyware and also turned to Lookout for further technical analysis.
How iPhone Pegasus Hack works
NSO group and iPhone Pegasus Hack found a back door in our iPhones by taking advantage of Safari’s Webkit.
Webkit is the Safari engine’s tool which lays out and renders Web pages. When Webkit is compromised, the next phase is attacking and getting access to the Kernel (the heart of the iOS operating system) with a bug.
The third and last phase, iPhone Pegasus Hack uses the compromised Kernel to jailbreak the iPhone!
Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with YOU, jailbreaking your iPhone in order to use Cydia and third party apps!
iOS 9.3.5 and iPhone Pegasus Hack
Citizen Lab and Lookout got in touch with Apple as soon as they found out about iPhone Pegasus Hack and the way it works! Apple immediately started working on iOS 9.3.5 security update.
10 days later and on August 25, 2016, the release of iOS 9.3.5 was a fact! Apple managed to fix the iPhone Pegasus Hack and also called it ”Trident” because of the 3 phases iPhone take down!
The iOS 9.3.5 update is available for:
- iPhone 4S and all other later iPhone models
- iPad 2 and all other later iPad models
- iPod touch (5th generation) and iPod models.
iOS 9.3.5 can be downloaded by

Summarizing iPhone Pegasus Hack
I always advise friends and visitors to download and install the latest iOS versions for greater benefits. The newest iOS version always ensures fewer bugs and is always for the best when you want to unlock an iPhone.
iOS 9.3.5 works fine right now and Pegasus spyware is gone from our iPhones. But nobody can tell what new ways Hackers, like NSO Group, will use in order to violate our personal data.
