To Unlock Network Lock from an iPhone means to enable it to use ANY SIM-Card worldwide without any restrictions.
The actual Unlocking process is not very difficult, but there are some things you need to know about your iPhone before proceeding with an unlock.
I will sum everything up into 3 steps, so you can skip the ones that you already know or you do not have to read.
- Get an accurate report with the Network Lock of your iPhone
- Send a FREE Network Lock removal request to your Lock network
- Try a paid iPhone IMEI Network Unlock service
#1 – Find the Network of your iPhone – Unlock Network Lock
If you already know your iPhone’s Network lock you can skip this step and move to Step #2 and learn how to Unlock Network Lock of an iPhone.
The first step is to find in which Carrier (Mobile Network) your iPhone is locked to, because it will help you to either send a SIM-Lock removal request to them OR to order the appropriate IMEI Network Unlock service.
There are at least 3 methods to find if your iPhone is Locked, but only one to find the Network Lock of an iPhone; an iPhone IMEI GSX service.
You could try UnlockSpector and get the results instantly to your e-mail address, but it is up to you to decide which company you will choose for finding the Network Lock of your iPhone.
Once you receive the full iPhone IMEI GSX Check report, you can proceed with the second step.
#2 – Unlock Network Lock through your Carrier
Normally, to Unlock Network Lock through your iPhone’s Carrier is FREE. All you have to do is to send them a SIM-Lock deactivation request to their Unlocking Department.
However, there are some requirements depending on the Lock network, which means that you need to read and understand their Unlocking Policies and Terms & Conditions.
I do not want to dissapoint you, but you will have to do a lot of reading, since not only they structure them in such a way to have a lot of requirements (Content-wise), but they are using vague terms in order to be able to reject a request whenever they want.
On top of that, a formal SIM-Lock Deactivation Template should be used, just for the Mobile Network to “accept” it (Not to implement it to your iPhone). Requests that are not being send with this template, are automatically rejected.
As I said, I am not gonna lie to you, it is time consuming, but if you have a lot of time in your hands, you can initiate the SIM-Lock Removal request procedure.
If you are tight on time and energy, you can request a SIM-Lock Deactivation service from iPhoneUnlock.Zone to do it on your behalf and also generate an accurate and up to date iPhone IMEI Check report to increase the success rate.
#3 – Unlock Network Lock with an IMEI Unlock Service
This third solution is basically being used more than the second one, because the Unlock requests through a Carrier were not very popular. The reason was that the Mobile Networks did not have to unlock their devices, but now they are obligated by the law (When you meet certain criteria).
The IMEI Unlock service, is changing the LOCKED status of your iPhone to UNLOCKED, inside GSX databases. From those databases, all the Mobile Networks are getting updated of whether an iPhone is Locked or Unlocked.
This is a paid service though, so it is very important to know in which Network your iPhone is locked to, because if you order a wrong service, the unlock will fail and you will lose your payment!
To give you an example, a different IMEI Unlock service will be used for an AT&T USA Locked iPhone and a different for an O2 UK Locked iPhone. You need to take into account the Blacklist, Contract & Financial status of your iPhone as well, which is the reason that the #1 Step that I wrote is CRUCIAL!
Once you have a complete report with the Network, Blacklist, Contract & Financial status of your iPhone, you can go ahead and Order an IMEI Network Unlock Service.
My thoughts on Unlock Network Lock solutions
Unfortunately there is not a completely FREE way of unlocking an iPhone, since the iPhone IMEI Check reports are not for free. You might be tempted to use some online tools that “offer” free results, but it is impossible to provide accurate results without having access to GSX databases. Apple does not provide FREE access to their GSX databases, which means that the IMEI Check reports will always be paid services.
Having said that, it is worth investing $10 (on average) for a full iPhone IMEI Check report, since it will allow you to find the Lock network of your iPhone and follow the Steps #2 & #3, and Unlock Network Lock permanently.
Many of our users do not want to spend time reading Unlocking Policies and Terms & Conditions of Carriers, and I can fully understand them. I spend a lot of hours to read and generate my SIM-Lock Deactivation request ( It was successful if you want to know 😀 ).
If you are in a hurry, just go to iPhoneUnlock.Zone and order their SIM-Lock Deactivation request service (Only your IMEI number is needed).
